Have you ever gone to Lake Tahoe

Jan 24, 2026, by Grace

Have you ever gone to Lake Tahoe? If not then let me convince you to go. First we need the necessities. The most important thing is to bring water and warm clothes. Most people don’t know this but you should bring sunglasses and sunscreen  because you’re closer to the sun than normally. I went hiking, sledding, and skiing and it was SO MUCH FUN. I went skiing at Mt. Rose. Mt. Rose had a lot of skiing places, but since there wasn’t enough snow, only 4 areas were open.

Mt. Rose was a lot of places to eat and rest, like, for example, we went to the sky bar to rest but got kicked out because I was 10. I went on the “magic” and got to a hill. It was called “Show Off,” and it was for easy/beginner. I could only go there because it was the only easy/beginner skiing route that was open. We were going to go to Mystic, Spellbound, and other beginner skiing routes, but they were sadly all closed because of not enough snow in the places.

If you want to sled, if it’s going to snow or if there is already snow, just go to a place that’s kind of on a hill and sled. We did that, and it was so much fun. We went near Carson City. I built a snowman there too. I named them Lummi, Bobby, Snow, and Kittchick. I named one Kittchick because it looked like a cat at first, but since my dad distorted it, he tried rebuilding it, but it got changed into a chick, so that’s how he got his name. The rest I named them that because I thought they were cute names.

I don’t think I really hiked, but I took many pictures.  I went to a side of the lake and walked about a mile, and it was fun. We saw a lot of stuff. I even ate lunch there. We ate a lot of meat, but it was good. At the other place we stopped near the snow guys, and we took some pictures, but that was it. They were beautiful, though, and the sun was kind of setting, but it was only around 3-4 pm. We drove a lot looking for places to eat, and we found one, but it took us a long time, but the food was delicious, so it’s a loss-win, but it’s fine.

In all, Lake Tahoe is a fun and beautiful place to visit. There are so many things to do and see. We ate and explored many places. I hope I can go again, and now you know why I love Lake Tahoe, and I hope I convinced you to go on an adventure in lake tahoe.

Lake Tahoe Trip

By Leo, Jan 24, 2026

info

Lake Tahoe is a 10-hour drive from Carlsbad. There is snow all around, and it is pretty cold. It has some popular places like Tahoe Treetop, Ridge Rider Mountain Coaster, and Lake Tahoe Beach. There is a skiing and snowboarding place.

what I did

I went to a beach and went skiing every day, and I found out that I’m pretty good at it. but there was too much driving, and almost 2 days were spent if all the driving was combined. I was exhausted after the trip, but it was worth it i had some fun time there.

what I felt like at/after the trip

On the first day I woke up at 5 am to pack up and get ready to leave. It took more than 10 hours, and I was tired in the car. I slept for 5 hours in the car and played games for the remaining 5 hours. Then on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th days, it was super fun playing there, and on the 6th day, I drove back to my house, and I was super tired.

why I went to tahoe

I usually hate going on a trip, but this time I went on a trip because I used to love snow, and going to Tahoe was the only way to see snow again, but I didn’t know how much snow there was. I still took the chance and went to Tahoe.and I was lucky I did because there was a large amount of snow on the ground; the snow came up to my leg! I could barely walk because of the amount of snow. My dad had to attach a chain on the wheel to make the car move.

conclusion

In conclusion, Lake Tahoe is a popular place that has snow; you can ski, snowboard, and build snowmen. It’s a 10-hour drive from Carlsbad, but it’s worth it. Because you can see snow, if you want to play in snow, you can play a lot and have a lot of fun. I hope this article helped you learn about Lake Tahoe.

Bye.

Lake Tahoe

Places to go: Heavenly Village, Zephyr Cove, Ski resort (Mt. Rose was cheapest, and good for beginners like me), Emerald Bay Beach, Cave Rock, etc.

Lake Tahoe was a very amazing and fun place to go. There was a lot of snow. I and my family built snowmen, skied, and sledded. It took us quite a while to go up there because after we went to Big Bear, we had to drive way up to my sister, and then we had to go to Lake Tahoe, so then it took us an extra two hours from Davis, but it was worth it to get to meet my sister (actually, we picked her). We saw amazing views at Lake Tahoe, it was spectacular. I recommend going there.

Big Bear Mountain

Nov 23-24, 2025

Where to go: Big bear village, Castle rock, Big bear discovery center, Alpine pedal trail, Solar observatory

Big Bear Mountain was a very fun experience. There was a lot of snow. It took us about four hours to go there because we were going to LA and then Big Bear from Carlsbad. We went to Castle Rock, Alpine Trail, and we saw amazing mountains. The view was astonishing.

Bees

Digital drawing by Grace

Bees pollute by going to flowers and the pollen goes on their legs so the pollen that is sticking to the bees legs. When the bee is moving the pollen drops slowly.

A bee looks like a fuzzy, hairy insect with six legs with two pairs of wings, and three body parts: a head, thorax, and abdomen. They are usually black with yellow stripes on the abdomen. Female bees have a stinger, while male bees do not.

Bees make honey by collecting nectar from flowers and processing it in the honey stomach, and regurgitating it to other bees who repeat the process. Finally, they deposit the mixture into honeycomb cells and use their wings to evaporate excess water, thickening it honey.

In conclusion, the honeybee is more than just a source of honey; it is a fundamental pillar of our ecosystem and food supply. Without the tireless work of bees pollinating crops and wildflowers, a large portion of our food would disappear, and biodiversity would suffer immensely. The threats of pesticides, habitat loss, and climate change are real and must be addressed to ensure the survival of these crucial pollinators, securing not only their future but our own as well.

Yellowstone Wolves

by Grace

Grey wolves were doing excellent but then the first English settlers first arrived
and they had thought wolves will kill their livestock and for over 100 years they had been hunting wolves and occasionally bears but when they killed all wolves 1928 then the land was not the same. Elk and other prey animals had overpopulated the area and most died in winter of starvation; grasses had become weak, and the young trees were eaten before reaching adulthood. Beavers were having trouble too, since they relied on trees to build dams, and fish were dying. Waters were getting dirtier, and wetland creatures were going away. Beaver dams were crucial in Yellowstone. Without wolves, the coyote became an apex predator, driving down populations of pronghorn antelope, red fox and rodents, and birds that prey on small animals. Rabbits, foxes, and rats were suffering, and songbirds were running away from Yellowstone because they didn’t have trees that they could build their nests in. Various scavenger species suffered without year-round wolf kills to feed on, like eagles, ravens, and bears.

In 1984 scientists decided to bring back grey wolves to Yellowstone.
They brought grey wolves from Canada; in total they brought 14 wolves.
For 10 weeks, they stayed in a very large cage to get used to the smell and sounds and basically get used to everything. The scientists put radio collars on them so they could track them. Now after they were released, photographers recorded everything; they were trying to get the wolves photographed so they can know wolf behaviors. Now one died immediately from a bullet, it’s hard out in the wild for wolves. Just a few wolves made a difference, elk and mule deer were now getting killed by wolves, and elk started to not stay in plains because it’s easier to get killed. Songbirds came back, beaver colonies were increasing, everything was thriving, after wolf reintroduction. In the northern range, elk numbers drop and beaver colonies increase from 1 to 12. Insects, songbirds, fish, and amphibians thrive. As the wolf returns, coyote numbers drop by half, allowing antelope, rodent and fox populations to increase.

Now after about 50 years, Yellowstone is healthy again. Over 100 wolves each year are alive, and elk numbers were 20k and are now in healthier numbers 7k,8k, and 6k. The wild is thriving but wolves still die from illegal shooting, and if they go out of Yellowstone then anyone can shoot them, they are on their own. The regular life span of a wolf is 5 because of their harsh life but some live longer to 8 or 10 years its hard to live that long for a wolf.

Panda

Panda’s are strong animals and can take down 10 men, but they have to eat bamboo a lot or their strength will disappear. They usually sleep for 10 hours a day.

Only a few pandas are left on this planet if we don’t do anything about it, then pandas will be extinct forever and if that’s so we’ll have to put another animal on the extinct list and that would be sad so yeah.

Pandas nurse their young until they are 2 years old i think.

That’s all for panda bYE
