Last Summer When We Became Each Other’s Teachers

This summer, calling it the “Summer Leaders’ Program” might sound a bit grand, but we had a small time of learning that was all our own.

The rule was simple. We taught our friends something we were good at.

One friend taught us how to draw. She started with the basics, like how to choose colors. We enjoyed drawing together.

Other friends taught another how to ride a bike. The hands holding the bike from behind let go, and the moment she pedaled on her own is still vivid in our minds. We all enjoyed that day and had lunch together as well.

We realized that teaching is much more fun than we expected. Of course, learning from friends was much more fun than we thought as well. When we shared something that we knew, and saw friends’ faces light up, we felt happy too.

It doesn’t have to be a grand program. We are just a small group of friends and their moms, but being together made this summer even happier.

I found the premise of “Mom’s Timer” to be really profound, showing a strong understanding of human emotions and relationships. In the poem, a timer is tied to the mother’s response to her children’s behavior and actions. In many ways, the child acts in accordance with the mother’s wishes to prevent her from “leaving,” and that causes the child to feel anxious. Feeling that their time with their mother is limited, the child chooses to make more happy memories with her. The poem captures the tension between wanting to be close to a parent and being careful not to upset them.

The book (author=Dustin Brady) starts with Jesse getting a text from his friend Eric. He told him to come to his basement. Jesse did and he found a game paused in there. He unpaused it and he got sucked into the video game. He saw his left arm was a plasmacannon now. He also saw a guy standing at the top of the hill, so he climbed up and met the guy. He was the tutorial guy. He taught him how to use all of his tools, and Jesse went off on a journey to find Eric.

This book was officially introduced on April/18/2018 and It is a book that you can buy. There are 1-5 series of books.The book I introduced is book 1.

Tahoe

My family went to Lake Tahoe in December. When we were there, it was just raining cats and dogs. It took 8 to 12 hours to go to Lake Tahoe. That night, I hoped the snow would come down from the sky.

On the second day of Lake Tahoe, it was still raining outside. My parents decided to look around the resort. The resort was really big. It is about 6000 acres. After we looked around the resort, we came back to the hotel . We relaxed on a cozy couch and then slept.

The next day while I was eating my delicious breakfast, the snow was raining down. Right after I ate my breakfast, my family went outside and headed to the gondola. We rode the gondola to the summit. 15 minutes later, we went out to the snowfield. I had my first snowman, and I had a snow fight with my dad. Also, I rolled down the hill. After playing in the snow, my family came back to the hotel and rested.

On the last day of Tahoe, we went to the hot tub and relaxed. Also, there is a pool where we can do a polar bear plunge. When I got inside, it was so cold that I literally freaked out and jumped back into the hot tub. 1 hour later we went to the arcade. We played the game until it was 9 p.m. my mom said to go to sleep early because we had to leave at 7 a.m.

In my opinion this vacation was the best, and I want to visit Lake Tahoe next December or January.

Lake Tahoe Trip

Lake Tahoe is a 10-hour drive from Carlsbad. There is snow all around, and it is pretty cold. It has some popular places like Tahoe Treetop, Ridge Rider Mountain Coaster, and Lake Tahoe Beach. There is a skiing and snowboarding place.

what I did

I went to a beach and went skiing every day, and I found out that I’m pretty good at it. but there was too much driving, and almost 2 days were spent if all the driving was combined. I was exhausted after the trip, but it was worth it i had some fun time there.

what I felt like at/after the trip

On the first day I woke up at 5 am to pack up and get ready to leave. It took more than 10 hours, and I was tired in the car. I slept for 5 hours in the car and played games for the remaining 5 hours. Then on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th days, it was super fun playing there, and on the 6th day, I drove back to my house, and I was super tired.

why I went to tahoe

I usually hate going on a trip, but this time I went on a trip because I used to love snow, and going to Tahoe was the only way to see snow again, but I didn’t know how much snow there was. I still took the chance and went to Tahoe.and I was lucky I did because there was a large amount of snow on the ground; the snow came up to my leg! I could barely walk because of the amount of snow. My dad had to attach a chain on the wheel to make the car move.

conclusion

In conclusion, Lake Tahoe is a popular place that has snow; you can ski, snowboard, and build snowmen. It’s a 10-hour drive from Carlsbad, but it’s worth it. Because you can see snow, if you want to play in snow, you can play a lot and have a lot of fun. I hope this article helped you learn about Lake Tahoe.
